Otilia M. "Tillie" Garcia

Otilia "Tillie" M. Garcia, age 83, a resident of Albuquerque/Rio Rancho since 1986, died Monday, May 26, 2014. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Rev. Valentin Garcia, Sr.; children, Molly Ipiotis and husband, Chris, Valentin "Val" Garcia, Jr., Esperanza "Hopie" Carrillo and husband, Bob, Ismael "Mike" Garcia, Elvia Martinez, and Estevan "Steve" Garcia and wife, Shannon; nineteen grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Alfredo Montes and wife, Adella of Whitney, TX, Frederico Montes of Peoria, TX, and Consuelo Abrego of Hillsboro, TX; and many other relatives and friends. Tillie was born in 1930 in Goliad, TX to Pablo and Guadelupe Montes. She and Rev. Garcia moved to Albuquerque where she served at his side as a Pastor's wife. Tillie was a seamstress, making beautiful quilts and loved to take care of the elderly. She loved to work in her rose garden. Tillie was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and sister and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Friends may visit God's House Church, 2335 Wyoming Blvd. NE, Thursday, May 29, 2014 from 6:30 p.m. till an Evening Memorial Service at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at God's House, 2335 Wyoming Blvd. NE, Friday, May 30, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Christopher Ipiotis, Jr., Valentin Garcia III, Michael Garcia, Steve Garcia, Jr., Elijah John Garcia and Josh Perez.
