Orlando F. Rodriguez, age 93, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 24, 2022, surrounded by his loving daughters and their husbands. God called him home to join his beautiful wife, Adela; they were married for 60 years. All of us who loved and knew him will miss his smile, humor and kindness. Orlando loved the outdoors but during inclement weather you could always find him "sitting by the window". He proudly served in the US Army and was stationed in Korea. Orlando retired from Sandia National Labs.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Adela; parents, Terecina and Efren; twin brother, Efren; brothers, Willie and Charlie; sister, Mary; and son-in-law, Tim. Orlando is survived by his loving daughters, Lena Mae Chavez (Michael), Karen Archibeque (Edward), Rosella Garton (Brian) and Janice Montoya; 10 grandchildren, Anthony Chavez (Melissa), Michael Paul Chavez (Carolyna), Angela Barela (Michael), Lisa Grubbs (Curtis), Diane De La Cruz (Adrian), Matthew Garton (Julie), Mark Archibeque, T.J. Montoya, Joshua Montoya, Arianna Montoya; 11 great-grandchildren, Tristan Chavez, Wyatt Chavez, Grady Chavez, Màximo Chavez, Samantha Barela, Isaiah Barela, Alicia De La Cruz, Aaron De La Cruz, Carson Grubbs, Preston Grubbs and Autumn Grubbs. He is also survived by his loving sister, Esther Chavez; and many brother and sister's in-law, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Orlando had many fond memories of growing up in Velarde and Espanola and often talked about going to the dances in Riverside with Adela. Our beloved dad had a wonderful life and will be missed forever. The family would like to extend their appreciation to Bee Hive Assisted Living (on Montano) for their special love and care.
