Olympia Dorwin "Lee", 88, passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at her home. Lee was born in Matawan, NJ to Giuseppe and Olimpia Nunziato. She graduated from NJ State Teacher's College in 1949. She married Robert A. Dorwin in 1949 and they moved to Albuquerque at that time and she started teaching elementary school with APS. She completed a Master's Degree in Education from UNM and continued a 32 year career with APS. Lee was a devoted mother and grandmother to her daughter Cynthia and her children, Christina and Austin. She also enjoyed cooking, traveling and trips to the casino.
Mom, you were the best mother and grandmother anyone could have and you will be greatly missed.
Lee was preceded in death by her parents, Giuseppe and Olimpia Nunziato; and her husband of almost 62 years, Robert A. Dorwin.
She is survived by daughter, Cynthia Frank; and grandchildren, Christina and Austin. She is also survived by sisters, Connie Dorwin and her children, Rodney and Pam and Elizabeth Malinconico.
At Lee's request, a formal service will not be held. A reception in her honor will be held at a later date. Lee's urn will be placed with her husband at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the American Diabetes Association.
