Norman Allen Smith, age 90, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, died Wednesday, November 7, 2012. Mr. Smith was born February 4, 1922 in Hoquiam, Washington. He served in the Army in Alaska during the Second World War. He attended the University of Washington in Seattle where he received degrees in Business and Economics and Electrical Engineering and the University of California in Berkeley where he received the degree of Master of Business Administration. Mr. Smith moved to Albuquerque in 1957 and worked at Sandia National Laboratories as a software engineer until his retirement in 1984. He was a member of the Albuquerque Figure Skating Club and was an avid skater up to a few years ago. He continued has interest in figure skating by judging various events in the Albuquerque area. His interests were worldwide and he travelled as much of the world as he could. He is survived by one son; a daughter-in-law; two nephews and two nieces in the state of Washington; four granddaughters; one grandson; two great grandsons and one great granddaughter. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, November 27, 2012, 10:00 a.m. at La Vida Llena Carter Hall, 10501 Lagrima De Oro Road NE Albuquerque, NM 87111.
