Norman John Sabrowsky

February 26, 1939 — December 12, 2015

Norman John Sabrowsky, 76, dedicated father and husband, slipped his earthly bonds due to complications with cancer on December 12, 2015. He was born in Pontiac, Michigan; later, the family returned to live in Minnesota.
Norman served with the Minnesota National Guard prior to joining the US Marine Corps from December 1958 to June 1963. He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees from St. Cloud State in Speech Language Pathology and also earned his Certificate of Clinical Competence in 1974. He was a life member of the American Speech Language and Hearing Association, a member of NMSHA and belonged to several wood carving groups in Albuquerque and Rio Rancho.
Norman was known for his compassion for others, as well as his woodworking and woodcarving skills that touched many children and adults. He encouraged people to live by "The Golden Rule" - to treat others as you would wish to be treated. He took great pride in being a good husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He took special interest in young children, especially carving little owls and bears for children at the New Mexico State Fair's woodcarving area.
Norman is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carol; his three sons, Jeremy (Melanie), Logan (Kari) and Abel (Tina); his grandchildren Cheyenne, Mitchell, Cody (Emily) and Jared (Emily) and great-grandchildren, Paityn and Carson. He is also survived by his sister, Ronette (Delbert Christen); his brother, DuWayne (Marianne) and many other relatives. Norman is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Rose; his brother, Herbert; his nephew, Rueben, and his niece, Coralee.
Memorial services were held December 15, 2015 at Cross of Hope Lutheran Church in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
