Norma Lee Ziegler née Young passed away on December 20, 2023, in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, surrounded by loved ones. Norma was born on May 13, 1942, in Kansas City, Missouri. She was raised in the Missouri and Kansas area and spent much of her life in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was preceded in passing by her parents Merle Dolfus Young and Mary Aileen Young, her siblings Richard Young and Merle Joe Young, and her son Terry Lee Glaspie. She was the loving wife of Carl Thomas Ziegler, who also preceded her in passing.
Norma is survived by her daughter Denise Jane Cox (husband Buddy), sister Beverly Hamilton, niece Mary Garcia, sister Brenda Carrillo, and nieces and nephews. She is survived by six grandchildren- John Glaspie, Courtney Cox, Alexandra Cox, Carl Glaspie, Sarah Navarrette (husband Jason), and Mackenzie Cox (wife Halli). Norma is survived by one great-grandchild- Xander Cox.
She met the love of her life, Carl, in New Mexico and they were married on December 20, 1975. They spent many happy years together, traveling and visiting family. She enjoyed crochet, sewing, baking, and reading. Norma may best be remembered for the enormous love she had for her grandchildren in her favorite role as Nanny. She will be dearly missed by her family and those that knew her. A visitation will be held on January 3, 2024, from 10-11am at FRENCH-University. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 11am. Norma's ashes will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park.
