Norma A. Hill passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 with family by her side. She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 70 years, David "Dave" Hill; and sister Joan Aryes. Norma is survived by her children, Laurie Johnson, Kathleen Kantola (Kenneth), Sandra Mullville (Thomas) and Scott Hill; along with eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Norma Adelaide Bey was born in Paramus, New Jersey on Tuesday, November 4, 1930 to Albert and Adelaide Bey. She was sister to Al Jr. and Joan Bey and a dear friend to many within her community. Her lifelong love, Dave Hill invited her to Albuquerque where they were married on Saturday, December 20, 1952. Norma and Dave began a beautiful family with four children, moved to Santa Barbara, Las Vegas and New Jersey then back to Albuquerque where they remained and nurtured life-long friendships of which she cherished deeply. Always a sociable person, Norma became a very good bowler and enjoyed playing bridge in her early years. She continued to play cards and dominos with her kids, grand-kids and great-grandkids later in life. She worked at JC Penney and Albuquerque National Bank as a teller and kept score for Dave's baseball team for many years. Norma served her community well, volunteering for AARP, providing seniors with tax preparation assistance. She additionally delivered for Meals-on-Wheels and oftentimes took her grandkids with her to encourage community involvement. Animals loved her and she always supported her kids when they wanted pets. She also enjoyed baking, sewing, knitting, and crocheting.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, June 30, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at FRENCH - Lomas. She'll then be laid to rest next to her husband at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
