Norma Hudson Barry passed from this life into her new life with Jesus on Tuesday, March 5, 2019. She died following a brief illness, surrounded by her husband and two nieces. Norma was born in Reserve, New Mexico on September 3, 1926, the seventh child of Archie and Laeuna Hudson. Following a career as a hairdresser, she worked in reservations for Continental Airlines in Denver, Colorado before taking a job at the Nevada Test Site. While in Nevada, Norma met the love of her life, Sergeant Charles E. Barry. They were married in Las Vegas at the Little Chapel of the West. She spent the rest of her life serving happily as a homemaker and military wife. She especially loved the time they spent after retirement in Lakeside, Montana, and Silver City, New Mexico where she always shared her gifts of hospitality and love of the outdoors with family and friends. Norma excelled at sewing, making all of her own clothes and her husband’s shirts. Her skills in canning, freezing, as well as jams, and syrups delighted both neighbors and family. Her husband, Charles (Ed); her brother, Clayton Hudson; and many loving nieces; and nephews, survive Norma. Interment will be held at the Santa Fe National Cemetery 501 N Guadalupe St, on Monday, March 11, 2019 at 12:45 p.m. A Memorial Service honoring her life will follow at 3:30 p.m. at FRENCH -Lomas located at 10500 Lomas Blvd., NE, Albuquerque, New Mexico, 87112.
