Nona Beth King

Nona Beth King, 92, of Albuquerque, NM was called home by her Savior October 1, 2024. Born in Gilmer, TX in 1932 to Bert and Mabel Wooldridge. The family moved to Childress, TX then on to Carlsbad, NM. Nona married Donald King and lived in Artesia, NM where they raised their three children. Nona worked as a school bus driver as well as a cashier at Safeway for many years. She had a very close circle of friends as well as church family. She taught Sunday school in various churches for 67 years as well as working in vacation bible school. Nona was a self-taught seamstress, wonderful cook, and hairstylist for friends and family. She was a voracious non-fiction reader and called herself a "health nut." She read endless medical/homeopathic journals to help Don when he became ill. She loved her family and friends and enjoyed everyone's company. A hot cup of coffee and some chocolate pie there was never a bad time for.

She is survived by her sister, Patsy Matturro of Albuquerque, NM; son, James Michael King (Laura) of Grand Junction, CO; daughters, Brenda Snodgrass of Wichita Falls, TX and Cindy King-Cordova of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren, Anna Cordova, Daniel Dixon, Craig Snodgrass (Amanda), Clark Snodgrass, and Beth Snodgrass; great-grandchildren, Kendall, Cole, Clayton, Emily, and Jack.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 19, 2024, 10:00 a.m., at Northdale Baptist Church, 123 Osuna Rd. NW, followed by burial at Sunset Memorial Park 924 Menaul Blvd. NE.

In lieu of flower, donations may be made to Thru the Bible Ministries. Special thanks to everyone who helped with her care-Luna del Valle Hospice, Adriana, Marika, Westridge Village, as well as Brio Assisted Living. Nona was extremely grateful for all prayers, calls, as well as visits. Until we meet again!
