Noel D. Martin R LTC Usn

Age 91, a resident of Albuquerque, NM intermittently since 1944 passed away on January 3, 2014. He was born November 27, 1922 in Greenleaf, KS. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Daniel T. and Flora and his sister, Regina Martin Maguire all three here in Albuquerque; and two nephews Greg Maguire in Albuquerque and Marty May in Anaconda, MT. Noel is surivived by his sisters, Virginia (Dr. Robert) Manion in Circle, MT and Dolores Ann (Don) May in Anaconda, MT; brother-in-law, W.E. (Bill) Maguire of Albuquerque, NM and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and acquaintances. Noel was a renowned pianist in the 1940's and 50's, playing on KOB radio and other venues around town. When his hearing deteriorated, he stopped playing because he couldn't hear the full notes of the piano. He came to Albuquerque in the 1940's after enlisting in the U.S. Navy and serving in WWII, Korean War and Viet Nam War, he enrolled at UNM where he received a masters in Economics. He worked in Albuquerque National Bank before retiring from many years of Federal service. He is remembered for raising several registered dogs and leaves Dempsey, a registered Irish Terrier behind. He was instrumental in organizing The Ancient Order of Hibernians for Brother Mathias of the Brothers of the Good Shepherd. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, January 7, 2014, 6:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Fr. Thomas Mescall will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2014, 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, corner of Lomas & Tennessee NE. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith NE. Honorary Pallbearers will be Larry Manion, Don May, Dr. Robert Manion, Kevin Maguire, Kerry Maguire, Tom Mescall, Joe Tuttoilmundo, Leo Aragon, Kent Maguire, Brian Maguire, Jose Tafoya, Terry Maguire, Zachary Maguire, Allan Rice and other family members.
