NOEL ARTHUR STANLEY GANTICKBorn on Christmas Day, 1930, in Williamantic, Connecticut, Noel passed away suddenly on June 27, 2012, at his residence, where he resided with his daughter Monica Winton and his granddaughter Ashlynne Winton. On April 24, 1954 Noel married Mary Margaret DeLong of Lexington, Kentucky in Washington, D.C. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. After 30 years, the marriage was dissolved. Mary still resides in Albuquerque. Noel is survived by three children; Timothy Stanley Gantick and wife Sandra of Lake Oswego, OR, Mary Monica Winton of Albuquerque, and Aaron Noel Gantick and wife Lucy of El Paso, TX. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Jason Noel Gantick and wife Brianne of Purcellville, VA., John Daniel Gantick of New Braunfels, TX, Nicholas Ryan Gantick of Las Cruces, NM, Shaunna Lyn Winton of Tacoma WA., Ashlynne Marie Winton of Albuquerque, Jessica Nicole Gantick and Ericka Selina Gantick of El Paso, TX.; and three great-grandchildren, Brayden, Kaleb and Keagan Szuch-Gantick of Purcellville, VA. He is also survived by two nieces, Gail Marie Gantick (his Goddaughter) of Union, CT, and Linda May of Oxford, GA., one nephew, Christopher Gantick of Jasper, GA; and his Goddaughter, Therese Murray Allinder, daughter of long-time friends, presently residing in Doha, Qatar. Noel was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Amanda Gantick of Willimantic, CT; one brother, Normand Gantick; and his niece, Heidi Gantick of CT. Noel graduated from Clemson College (now a University) in 1958 as an electrical engineer, attended MIT under a scholarship given by the Atomic Energy Commission, and later earned a Master's degree in Business Administration. He worked in several states until taking a job in 1972 with the Department of Defense at Kirtland AFB, and retired from that position in 1994. He served in the National Guard in Connecticut, in the Air Force during the Korean War and Army Reserves in South Carolina. Noel's favorite hobby all his life was reading, which included all subject matters. He loved art, gardening and traveling in Mexico and South America. He was a member of the Palo Duro Senior Center and former member of the Duke City Bridge Club. Noel was a great provider for his family and was always there for them. He will be greatly missed. Bobby Winton will be the honorary pallbearer. Cremation has taken place and services will be held on Monday, July 9, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at French - Wyoming Chapel.
