Niomi Lea Martinez

Niomi Lea Martinez, age 32, beloved daughter, sister, and auntie passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2021. She was best known for her erratic sense of humor, her loud voice, and her intense laughter. She was a well-known server in the Albuquerque Uptown area. If you were ever her patron, you would most definitely remember who she was. She was great with her guests, and strived to leave a lasting impression, as well as an ecstatic experience. She prided herself with her acting skills, and movie quotes she had memorized since her childhood. She loved to make people laugh almost as much as she loved to laugh at people! She eventually met the true love of her life, and sadly leaves behind her fiancé, Donnie Ray Hinojos.

She is survived by her father, Joe Martinez; stepfather, Richard Lucero; sister, (seester) Desiree M. Martinez; and her brother, Myles C. Martinez; brother-in-law, Jason L. Pincheira; stepsisters, Valerie Tafoya, and Angel Lucero; stepbrothers, Ricky Lucero and Jose Lucero. She also leaves behind her nieces, Sylvia M. Pincheira, baby (Evee) Evangelina Martinez; and her nephews, Julian L. Pincheira, Ayden James Martinez, Lathan Myles Martinez. Niomi was loved and will be missed by many aunts, uncle, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Ernestine Chavez Lucero; grandparents, Julian U. Chavez, Guadalupe Chavez, Nazario Martinez, and Flora Martinez; uncle, Sammy Chavez; auntie, Lucile Chavez; and cousin, Gary Saminiego. She also had many friends and co-workers that will always remember her.

Her celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2021 in Las Cruces, NM, at St. Genevieve Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. Please visit the Facebook page for St. Genevieve Catholic Church to view the service.
