Nina was born on March 24, 1922 and returned home on June 20, 2013. Her clan was Nakai Dine'e and Naneezhtezhi. She is survived by three children, Dr. Kathryn (Toledo) Manuelito of Tempe, Arizona, Clarence Toledo, Jr. of Williams, Arizona, and Dr. Eulynda Toledo of Santa Rosa, New Mexico. She had ten grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Nina was the oldest of 11 children. She is also survived by her siblings: Pearl (Pinto) Sunrise, Ray Pinto, and Carmelita (Pinto) Estensen. Nina Toledo was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Toledo, Sr.; her parents, George and Bertha Pinto; siblings, Elvina (Pinto) Pearce, Alfred, Amy, Ernest, Marvin, Dennis, and Delores (Pinto) Lytle. Nina was born in Vanderwagon, New Mexico. She attended and graduated from Fort Wingate High School. She attended Haskell in Lawrence, Kansas. She retired from the Bureau of Indian Affairs with 20 years of service. As a child, she herded sheep and later was an accomplished seamstress, weaver of rugs and sash belts. She taught weaving at the University of New Mexico, Gallup Branch and demonstrated weaving in Portland, Oregon and the annual New Mexico State Fair. Nina was a member of the Christian Reformed Church throughout her life. Nina's greatest goals were to be with her Lord and Savior and reunite with her precious husband, Clarence. She missed him dearly and after 23 years, they are finally back together again. She lived her life honoring her Savior. She will be dearly missed. A Celebration of Nina's Life will be held on Thursday, June, 27, 2013 at 10:00 am at Fellowship Christian Reformed Church, 4800 Indian School Rd NE Albuquerque, NM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Nina's memory may be made to the Children's Program at Fellowship Christian Reformed Church 505-268-3700.
