Nicole (Nikki) Andrea Lardner was born on August 24th, 1992, to the amazing husband & wife duo of Timothy & Janice Lardner. Early on, she followed in the footsteps of her 3 fast-paced siblings: her “B. Lardner” (Britney Lardner), her “Favorite Bro” (Michael V. Lardner), and her “Rockin’ Nurse” (Michelle Deitchman). Tim & Janice raised their family in Belen, NM, where Nikki attended school & participated in many extracurricular events (BHS Class of 2011). She was successful in Tennis, Track & Field, & the Belen FFA Chapter.
Nikki is preceded into our Lord’s Heavenly Kingdom by her father (Timothy Lardner), grandmother (Lois Lardner), cousins (Christopher Lardner & Alex Layer), and grandfather (Michael Capps). She is survived in faith by her mother (Janice), brother (Michael), sisters (Michelle & Britney), grandfather (Vincent Lardner), grandmothers (MaryKay Lardner & Charlette Skidmore), 9 uncles, 8 aunts, 23 cousins and countless friends/neighbors/co-workers.
From the time Nikki was 2, she adopted the “I can do it myself” kind of attitude, and always felt empowered to set her sights high. She was a happy little girl who focused on keeping up with her sisters and brother, and she turned into a strong-willed young woman who was determined to show that girls can keep up with the boys in many, many aspects. In high school, she became a volunteer at the Rio Grande Fire Department, and quickly found her calling. She was,… shall we say “a moth to a flame” – she was attracted to the idea that saving lives & extinguishing fires was her mission in life, and she made it her passion…and she did it with constant grace & a new hair style every couple of months.
In 2013, Nikki was tragically in a single car rollover and sustained a Severe Traumatic Brain Injury & multiple physical setbacks… but not her spirit – she was attentive to the idea that she was the life of the party, every gathering needed appetizers, and that every outfit could nicely pair with her zebra purse & hot pink nails (if you didn’t know, she was a woman of glitz’n’glamour). Throughout the following 6 years, Nikki faced many challenges, and unfortunately her “tiny but mighty” body just couldn’t keep up.
Nikki went to be with our Lord & Savior on Friday, August 30th, 2019. Her services will take place at the following locations:
