The world has lost an amazing, talented, bright, and beautiful son.
Nick Stern went home to be with our Lord on Wednesday, June 30th, 2021.
He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, partner, nephew, dad, and friend.
Nick was born December 25, 1989, in Bedford, Texas and his family settled in Albuquerque in 1994 after living in Mexico and Nevada. He spent every summer visiting his grandparents and family in Michigan. Nick graduated from Sandia High school and had a passion for reading and writing.
It was no surprise when he became the editor of the CNM Newspaper. He loved interviewing and writing about people and events.
Nick loved snowboarding while living and working in Taos. He loved gardening at El Pinto and roasting chile at Wagner Farms. He made friends for life.
Nick was a blessing
Nick had a unique lens by which he saw the world. He weaved so much together to create and communicate his thoughts and feelings through his drawings and music.
In a way that no one else could and shared his talents with so many others.
Nick left his mark on the world through his music and art. He was full of life, passionate about his creativeness and open-hearted. When a creative light comes into our lives, it brightens our entire world.
Nick was this light to everyone he met.
Everyone that came in contact with Nick couldn't help but like him, as his compassion for others was endless. He had a gift of listening and was loving and kind in all his ways. He had a nature to help all and was the one you felt comfortable with discussing your problems. He loved his family and friends dearly and was loved by all.
Nick is survived by his loving parents, Marie, and Alberto Stern; his younger sister, Allie and her husband, Geno; niece, Penelope; his girlfriend, Michelle and her son, Damian, whom he loved like a son; grandmother, Mary Burak; uncles, William, John, Gerald and Ronald Burak, Danny, David, Eddie and Ari Stern; aunts, Sylvia Stern and Adela Stern; cousins, Alex Burak, Melissa Rudick, and Natalie Stern and countless relatives and friends over the years.
He was preceded in death by his nephew, Santino; grandfather, Frederick Burak; grandparents, Max, and Becky Stern.
Nick's presence on this earth will truly be missed.
