Nicholas Clegg

March 21, 1991 — May 16, 2013

CLEGG, NICMarch 21, 1991 ~ May 16, 2013Once in a while, just now and then, a bright and beautiful person leaves this world a FAR better place than how they found it. This was Nic Clegg. During his 22 years he managed to bless the lives of his family and friends beyond words. His parents, Rob and Carol Clegg are feeling a loss incomparable to anything parents should ever know. His sister, Kirsten, has lost her best friend and brother. His family and friends will never forget him. But it's temporary. His mother Carol spoke the truth in the hours after losing her son, saying "We will be reunited someday." What peace there is in that truth! They all called him their family, yet he was God's child first and He called Nic home. Nic did not "meet" Jesus on that clear blue sky day on May 16th, because Nic already knew Him well. But he did see Him face to face ~ and as you read this, he is with Him, serving and loving Him where the skies are certainly more blue, more beautiful, than we can even imagine. While we will miss him and mourn our loss in him, there is no reason to cry for Nic. He is well with our Lord. Nic lived his life to the fullest, and encouraged those he knew to do the same. This precious son, this fine young man, this cherished brother, this unforgettable friend was active and ambitious and daring. He loved his life, and he was bright and charismatic with a smile that would light up any room. He was SO very wealthy! Nic owned many important things: faith, intelligence, a kind heart, gentleman's manners, charisma, a smile that never ended, a booming laugh, fearlessness, lasting impressions, a good work ethic, character, positive influence on others, determination, honesty, kindness, laughter, humor, wit, bravery and loyalty. Nic was a senior and Crimson Scholar at NMSU, studying Mechanical Engineering and he was also a Civil Air Patrol Cadet Commander. Nic LIVED his life! He chased monkeys, swam with sharks, rode horses, went sky diving, blew things up, lived care free, rode dirt bikes, swam competitively and lifeguarded. His smile was his physical trademark and his heart will always be remembered. His spirit will live on in the memories of all who knew him. And from the touching words of one of his many friends, "He will forever and always be in our hearts. Just remember to look up to Heaven and smile, because he will be smiling back at you. "A celebration of Nic's life will be held Saturday, May 25, 2013, 10:00 a.m. at Mountain Valley Church, 5 Dinkle Rd, Edgewood, NM. Nic will be buried on the family's land afterward and a reception will be held following burial. All who love Nic and the Clegg family are desired to attend. In lieu of flowers, Nic would appreciate donations towards his sister Kirsten's college fund.
