Nevin Marlett, 95, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, went home to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on June 14, 2015. Nevin had a passion for life and creating beautiful works of art in stained glass, tin punch, and wood. For years he was active in Kingdom Builders and helped to build and maintain a New Mexico Teen Challenge center and Assembly of God camp facilities. While in his eighties, he traveled to Costa Rica with the Tramway Community Church missions outreach. Nevin attained the rank of Lt. Colonel in the U.S. Air Force and the Air National Guard. From 1943 to 1978, he was a pilot and flight instructor on 14 different kinds of aircraft. He flew over 100 missions during the Korean War and received numerous medals, including the Distinguished Flying Cross. Nevin also worked as an electrical engineer for Allis Chalmers for 43 years. He is survived by his wife, Pat Marlett; his children, Bonnie Peterson and husband, Joel, Tom Marlett and wife, Lynne, Lori Carstens and husband, Paul; and stepchildren, Duane Garrison and wife, Vickie, and Brenda Ayers and husband, John; 15 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; and his brother, Orville Marlett. Nevin was preceded in death by his first wife Jean Marlett, his son, Steven Marlett, and stepson, Dean Garrison; parents, Peter and Edna Marlett and brothers, Howard and Loring Marlett and Desmond Smith. A Visitation will held on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service,11:00 a.m. at FRENCH - Lomas. Interment will be on Monday, June 22, 2015, 2:15 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tramway Community Church, earmarked for the Kingdom Builders or Teen Challenge programs.
