Nestor Garcia of Puerto de Luna, NM, passed away on Monay, June 29, 2015 at the age of 89. Nestor enlisted in the Army in 1943 and served for three years during WWII, stationed in Germany where he was wounded. He received the Purple Heart Combat Infantry Badge and the Victory Medal. At the end of the war Nestor served under General Patton. Nestor is survived by his daughter, Linda Garcia of Santa Rosa; grandchildren, Renee Sisk and husband, Billy, Abe Garcia and Edward Garcia; great grandchildren, Anyssa Garcia and Zach Garcia; great-great grandchildren, Katie Sisk and Kayden Sisk; brothers, Ezequiel Garcia Jr. and wife, Oma, and Arsenio Garcia and wife, Mary; sisters, Isabel Anaya and Tircia Garcia; sisters-in-law Laverne Garcia and Beatrice Garcia; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Joseph David Garcia; his parents, Ezequiel Sr. and Victoriana Garcia; and several brothers and sisters. Nestor was a loving father, grandfather and brother and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Rosary will be Monday, July 6, 2015, 7:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas on with interment to take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery on Tuesday, July 7, 2015, 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The Military Order of the Purple Heart Service Foundation, P.O. Box 49, Annandale, VA 22003, .
