Nena Alquisalas Johnson, age 71, of Albuquerque received her angel wings on Sunday, October 30th, 2022. She was born in San Carlos, Negros Occidental, Philippines on November 13th, 1950.
Nena is survived by Mike and Christine Barela (daughter); Christopher Johnson (son); grandchildren, Camden and Mackenzie Barela, and Dominic all of Albuquerque, NM; her brothers, Rudy Alquisalas, Edgar Alquisalas, Nelson Alquisalas, and Aramando Alquisalas; and sisters, Virgie Estenzo all from Hawaii, and Vivian Tarepe of (California).
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dominador Sr. and Maximina Alquisalas; and a brother, Dominador Alquisalas Jr.
Nena was previously an officer and an active member of the Filipino American Association of Albuquerque, a devoted Catholic, and maintained a close relationship with God. She loved a good game of Mahjong and was a serious player, but what she truly loved was spending quality time with family and friends, and especially her grandchildren Camden and Mackenzie. Words cannot express the grief and sadness we feel.
