Nelda (Griego) Baca

On Friday, August 13th, 2021, Nelda Griego Baca, loving mother of “my three boys”, passed away at the age of 93.  A near-lifelong resident of Albuquerque, NM, Nelda owned and operated Nelda’s Fashions for nearly two decades, serving as a tremendous inspiration not only to aspiring entrepreneurs, but also to anyone with a dream of “doing it my way”.  Her hobby was painting southwestern scenes which, by any measure, are deeply reflective of her tranquility and beautiful outlook on life. Unquestionably, though, most important to Nelda was her religious faith; she was a devout Catholic and she is now with her Savior, Jesus Christ, as well as her father Manuel, her mother Lucianita, her brothers Paul and Eloy, and her sisters Bruna and Neri. She is survived by her sister Selina, her sons and daughters-in-law David and Gloria, Albert and Linda, and Michael and Judith, her grandchildren Alison, Michelle, David, Patrick, and Melanie, and several nieces and nephews.  Services and a celebration of Nelda’s life are pending at this time due to the corona virus pandemic, but will be announced at a later date.  Those wishing to be placed on a list to be notified of the services may send an email to CelebratingNeldasLife@gmail.com .
