Nanette “Nan” Skipp, age 74, passed away July 6, 2018, after complications arose from a strangulated hernia. Nan had a history of heart and lung problems which she managed all her life, but her medical issues never interfered with her compassion and love of family and friends.
Nan was born in Wellsville, NY and had moved to Syracuse, NY where she was raised. Upon graduation from The Convent School in 1962, Syracuse, NY, with a Regents Diploma, she went on to attend St. Catherine’s Infant Home, Albany, NY, and became a labor and delivery nurse. She then worked throughout the years to insure her sons, Tracy and Chris, were able to attend parochial schools through high school.
Nan was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Dygert; and her two sisters, Susan Ginestro and Pamela Sproug. She is survived by her husband, Herbert Skipp; two sons, Tracy and Christopher Skipp; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, David Dygert; and many nieces and nephews.
She left us all with a lifetime of happy memories and smiles, especially when she laughed. We will always love and greatly miss Nan for the way she made everyone feel special.
Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, July 18, 2018, 10:00 a.m., at Risen Savior Catholic Community, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
