Nancy Louise (Cobb) Speis

January 5, 1953 — January 9, 2023

Soft spoken, but full of joy and smiles, a beautiful soul has entered into God's Glorious Kingdom. Nancy Louise Cobb Speis passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 9, 2023, just four days after celebrating her 70th birthday.

Born to Donald and Adeline (Jost) Cobb on Monday, January 5, 1953, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Nancy was the third of four children. The family also spent some years in Nebraska and then Minnesota, hence her love of the Vikings. In 1969 the family settled in Albuquerque, where Nancy worked in the family business, Pleasuretime Soda Company.

Nancy enjoyed life and discovered many hobbies along the way. She worked as a professional dog groomer for 50 years, owning her own business, and always had as many as four dogs at her side for her entire adult life. She raised and showed Irish Setters for nearly 20 years. She enjoyed camping, picnics, puzzles and board games, music and concerts, and spending time with family and friends. Most recently, she became quite skilled at ceramics, and enjoyed playing a lead role in the ceramics class at Palo Duro Senior Center twice a week. She loved her family and friends fiercely and would always lend a helping hand where she could as she was a Blessing to many.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Don Scot Cobb; and niece, Heather Brown. She is survived by her sisters, Sue (Wayne) Brown and Jane Brantley; her nephews, Scott Cobb, Jay Cobb (Rachael), and Aaron Brown; nieces, Aimee Brown Koch, Hillary (Ryan) Carman, and Alisa Brantley; and eight great-nieces and nephews.

A profound hole is left in our hearts. We will cherish every memory made, and every smile shared, a loving legacy she leaves for us. Show love and kindness to each other always! Every day and every breath is a gift from God!

A Celebration of Life is being planned for Spring and will be announced through French Funerals and Cremations online obituary.
