Nancy Lee Nolan

d. October 6, 2015

Nancy Lee Nolan, 83 years old and a resident of Albuquerque since 1954, passed away peacefully at home on October 6, 2015. She was born June 2, 1932 in Chilton, WI to Roland and Elsie (Everix) Miller.
Nancy was a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Through the years, she led an active life of playing and watching tennis, hiking and walking with her family, cross-country skiing with her husband, and enjoying cards and games with her grandchildren. She had a passionate love for travel, nature, family, and ice cream. Her loved ones are blessed with the notebooks full of beautiful descriptions she recorded on her trips to all fifty states as well as Canada, Mexico, Brazil, and Europe, and with the witty letters and postcards she sent during her travels. She taught each member of her large family to appreciate the beauty and wonder everywhere and to take pleasure in the small things that surround us. Because of Nancy, her family cherishes the bird that visits the backyard, the interesting rock found on a walk, the matchbook from a memorable restaurant, and the colors of fallen leaves. She taught everyone who knew her to explore, to hike to the end of the trail, to examine all of the choices on the menu, to see all of the sights, and to marvel at everyday life. While those who love her may never get over losing her, they are reminded of her in so many of the small objects they encounter.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, Irwin Nolan; son, Mark Nolan and wife Cecilia; and daughters, Kathy Dougher and husband Mike, Kristine Nolan, Karen Martinez and husband Ruben, and Susan Nolan and husband Ray DiGreco. Nancy was given the gift of nine grandchildren, Zakery Clarke, Nolan DiGreco, Montana DiGreco, Erin Martinez, Nicolas Martinez, Tara Finau and husband Joe, Matthew Nolan and wife Jenny, Holly Maloy and partner Clifton Folowell, and Jennifer Nancy Maloy and partner James De Lorenzi. Nancy lived a long and full life and was able to witness the birth of three great-grandchildren, Eleanor Finau, Isla Nolan, and Lily Folowell.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Earl and Marilyn (Nolan); and son-in-law, Tom Maloy. She is survived by her sisters, Joan (Bruckner) and Gretchen (Bloomer).
