Nancy Alice (Breen) Cooper

Nancy Alice (Breen) Cooper passed away peacefully at home in Albuquerque, NM on Thursday, May 6, 2021, surrounded by her family. Nancy was born in Beaver, OK on November 7, 1947. In 1969, she married her beloved husband of 51 years, Jimmy William Cooper. Nancy received a bachelor's degree in Education in 1971 from Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva, and a nursing degree from Amarillo College in 1975.

Nancy's work as an educator in Tohatchi, NM and later as a Registered Nurse in Houston, TX, Lander, WY, and Ratón, NM brought love to life, just as her gorgeous gardens brought life and color into the world; she became a master gardener in 2005. Nancy planted many seeds, put down deep roots, and her legacy is one of perpetual bloom. Her joyful, ebullient, and caring disposition made a deeply positive impact on countless lives.

She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Cooper of Albuquerque; her children, Alisa Cooper de Uribe of Albuquerque and Timothy Cooper of Dallas, TX; and her granddaughter, Clara Uribe Cooper.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Breen; her mother, Marion "Reen" Breen; and her brother, Dennis Breen.
