Nancy (Burn) Chavez

September 9, 1941 — March 24, 2023

Nancy died peacefully at her home in Albuquerque surrounded by her loving husband, children, and grandchildren. Nancy was born on Tuesday, September 9, 1941. She is Hooghan ł áni (Many Hogans), born for Tódich'ii'nii (Bitter Water). Her maternal clan is Tó'aheedlíinii (The Water Flows Together) and her paternal clan is T ł 'ááshchí'í (The Red Bottom People).
Nancy has many extended family members, friends, and acquaintances from living and working in Farmington for many years. Some of those jobs included Odorless Cleaners, Whiteway and housecleaning for various families in the area. She and her husband, Jimmy N. Chavez, moved to Albuquerque to be near their children and grandchildren.

Nancy is survived by her husband of 67 years, Jimmy N. Chavez; children, Norbert, Matilda, Earl, Nanette, Carolyn, and Eddie (Barbara). She had 5 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. Funeral Services for Nancy B. Chavez will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. at the Light of Life Mennonite Church, 780 Boyle Road. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens. A reception will be held at the fellowship hall of the Light of Life Mennonite Church.

Pallbearers will be Kody Jiron, Alizaya John, Jason Downing Jr, Jacob Jiron, Dylan Muir, Koiyn Muir; Honorary Pallbearers; Quentin Loretto, Randy Chavez, Adam Jiron, George Chavez Jr, Alvin Chavez, Vern George, Justin Chinana, Bruce Burn, Anderson Burn, Charlie Burn, Earl Chavez.
