Nancy JoAnn Bell, 70, of Albuquerque, passed away February 5, 2018 after a long battle with cancer.
Nancy was born in Beloit, Wisconsin to Arvid W. and Naomi L. Jacobson. Her family moved to Albuquerque in 1958. She and her brother, Bob attended Jefferson and Jackson Middle School and Manzano High School. She went on to earn her PN at Presbyterian Hospital in the new born nursery and RN degree at St. Joseph’s College. Working at Presbyterian Hospital and at Carrie-Tingley Hospital, Nancy’s specialty was working with newborns and children. She was married to Jim Bell and earned her certification for driving Semi trucks. They traversed the country together hauling loads in their Semi. Nancy was widowed after Jim’s hang-gliding accident. She spent the next 30 years with her life partner, John McCafferty. Throughout her life, Nancy created many beautiful works of art with her creative handworks, beautiful cross stitch, and exquisite jewelry making.
She is survived by her partner, John McCafferty; brother, Bob Jacobson and wife, Judy; and her niece, Melanie Jacobson, partner Laura Cobb; and nephew, Christopher Jacobson and wife, Dianna. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday March 4, 2018, 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at the home of Bob and Judy Jacobson 1635 Stanford SE.
