Nan Hai Tangyunyong

Nan Hai Tangyunyong, age 65, of Albuquerque, NM passed away on Monday, November 13, 2023, while returning home from an extended stay with her daughter in Tulsa, OK.

Born in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, "Nan" was loving, generous, and devoted to her family, friends, faith, and ministry. She moved from Taiwan to Morgantown, WV in 1977, when she was in high school, and completed a degree in Interior Design at West Virginia University. After meeting and marrying her husband, Paiboon Tangyunyong, Nan supported him while he completed a Ph.D. at Cornell University, which led to his long-term employment at Sandia Labs that began in 1992, and they lived in Albuquerque ever since. Nan touched many people's lives through her ministry as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. She was often seen out preaching the Good News about God's Kingdom to ones all over Albuquerque. As a mother, Nan ensured her daughter, Melody, and son, Nathan, received the best available education and her greatest joy was when both her children dedicated their lives to serve Jehovah as well. Nan was an extremely generous aunt, taking every opportunity to shower her nieces with Beanie Babies and other gifts from her travels to Thailand and Taiwan. She also enjoyed giving gifts from her travels to all her friends, often bringing back little keychains and jewelry for those she loved. Nan loved the roses she chose and Pai lovingly grew for her at their home, and she deeply missed her husband after he passed away on May 10th of this year. Nan's welcoming and warm spirit and cheerful smile are deeply missed.

Nan is survived by her daughter, Melody Tangyunyong; son, Nathan Tangyunyong; mother, Chiang Mae Wu; brother, Pei Hai Wu and his wife Emily Wu; and nieces Elizabeth Wu, Lila Wu, Tiffanie Wu, and Nicole Wu.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 15, 2023, 3:00 p.m., at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 8904 Menaul Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87112.
