Nabor Felix Martinez Sr.

Nabor Felix Martinez Sr., 85, passed away Saturday, December 21, 2019 in Albuquerque, NM.  Nabor was born on Sunday, May 20, 1934 in Atarque, NM.  In 1946 his family moved to Gallup, NM to establish a new life.  He then met his wife of 45 years, Anita Merayo-Martinez.  Throughout his life in Gallup he worked at various jobs:  La Copita, Pepsi-Cola, Seven to Eleven, Moorheads, Central Motors, Gurley Motors, Burnals  and Gallup McKinley County Schools.  He gained many lifelong friendships, through the jobs he held.  Nabor enjoyed trips to the Casino with his wife, daily coffee with his buddies, reselling goods at Joe Mamas and Dancing.  His favorite pastime at home was spent cleaning out his shed, listening to Spanish Music and watching sports on TV. He also enjoyed being around and spoiling his family.

Nabor was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Doloritas Martinez; wife, Anita Merayo-Martinez; brother, Nicodemos “Nick”; sisters, Filomena “Phyllis” and Mercedes “Sadie” and Sylvia; and son-in-law, Jerry Cummings.  His survivors include, brother, Andrew; sister, Catherine “Katie”; daughters, Debby, Dolores “Sugie” and Colleen; sons, Nabor Jr. and David; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.  This husband, father, grandfather and friend was a very loving and kind man.  He will surely be missed and was loved by many!
