Murry S Maxwell, 81, of Albuquerque, New Mexico died on November 6, 2021, at 7:10am.
Murry was born on November 17th, 1939, in Providence, Rhode Island. He was raised by Julia Etheline DeSousa and William Christian Maxwell in Williamsburg, New Mexico.
After graduating from Deming High School in 1957, he attended the University of New Mexico and became a certified Land Surveyor. Putting his education and love of hard work and the outdoors, he started his career with the highway department as a young man and then set his sights on electrical contracting and worked as a journeyman electrician until age 75 when he finally retired. He owned and operated his own electrical contracting company for 30+ years tirelessly providing for his family of eight.
In 1981, he married Janice Berrett in Albuquerque, NM whom he loved and adored with complete devotion for the rest of his life
He faithfully served in various callings within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Among his many callings, he served as a counselor in the bishopric and a temple ordinance worker. His family and community knew him to be a spiritual example and powerful man of God.
Outside of his excellence in electrical contracting, his other interests and talents included singing, leather working, ranching, reading, riding his motorcycle, serving others, and spending time with family.
He is survived by his wife Janice and eight children, Chris Maxwell of Louisiana, Tani Breitenbach of New York, Jim Maxwell (Jennifer) of Utah, Kenny (Rachelle) Maxwell of New Mexico, Danielle Alger of Nevada, Joshua Maxwell of North Carolina, Dustin Maxwell of New York, and Katryna (Wesley) Hanchett of New Mexico. He has 18 grandchildren Alesha Breitenbach, Nicole Breitenbach, Connor Breitenbach, Grace Maxwell, Bridget Maxwell, Kenneth Maxwell, Robert Maxwell, Sean Fitzgerald, Cheyenne Sheerin, Justin Alger, Savannah Alger, Alexis Maxwell, Jordan Maxwell, Jonah Maxwell, Haley Hanchett, Samantha Hanchett, Lily Hanchett, and Ivy Hanchett.
He is loved and revered by those who knew him and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
The memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, November 10th, 2021, at 2pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Montano Chapel 1100 Montano Rd NW, Albuquerque, NM.
A Zoom Link will be provided once available for those unable to attend in person.
The burial services will be held Friday, November 12th, 3pm at Sunset-Kimberly-Twin Falls Cemetery 2296 Kimberly Rd, Twin Falls, Idaho.
