Monica M. Chavez

Monica M. Chavez, 89, was born July 5, 1926 in Torreon, NM and peacefully passed away at home with her family around her in Albuquerque July 14, 2015. She is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Deacon Ubaldo Chavez and her parents, Juan and Maria Chavez. Mrs. Chavez is survived by her four children, Jessie Jacobsen and husband, Jake from Fountain Hills, AZ, David Chavez and wife, Maggie from Albuquerque, NM, Dody Johnston and her husband, Erik from Albuquerque, NM and Debi Williamson and husband, Jerry from Las Vegas, NV; ten grandchildren, Suzanne Palmer and husband, Jeff, Adrienne Chavez and Stefan Neumann, Jessica Chavez, Jeremy Clement and his spouse, Jamie, Jason Gilenson, Nicole Gilenson, Gabriel Chavez and his wife, Brenda, Daren Bryan, Andy Jordan and Christie Hitchcock, Keith Jordan and his spouse, Laura; great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Katie, Aryn, Madi, Dyson, Kailee, Tucker, Kyle, Gabriel, Jaelan, Allie and Luke; siblings, Cecilia Sanchez (Walter), Juanita Chavez, Alonzo Chavez (Tootsie), Carmel Chavez (Carol) Pablo Chavez, Juan Chavez (Dahlia), Joe Chavez (Cecilia), Susie Perea (Jose Maria); and many other family and friends. Monica enjoyed bowling and loved to bake for her children and family, especially her grandchildren. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and was always compassionate, caring, and the first to volunteer for anyone in need. Friends may visit Monday, July 20, 2015, 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas. Rosary will be recited Tuesday, July 21, 2015, 9:30 a.m. followed by the Mass at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 833 Arizona SE, Albuquerque, NM 87108. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Rosary Alter Society at Holy Ghost Catholic Church.
