Born July 13, 1967 to Mary and Jimmy Barros, she grew up in Albuquerque graduating from Del Norte HS and attended classes at the College of Santa Fe. Employed at Gap, Inc since 2002, sh·e loved her job and colleagues. Monica's life was too short to many, but those of us who were blessed to be touched by her understand that her existence and the imprint Monica left on our hearts exceed the quantity of time that we had with her.
She is survived by her husband of over 20 years, whom she adored, Dave Torres. She was an amazing mom to Mark Padilla, and cherished stepmother to Jeanette and Davie Torres. Monica's love extended beyond her immediate family to embrace her parents, Mary and Jimmy Barros; siblings Michael and Michelle; nieces Mandy and Angelica; and nephews Marcos, James and Julian. She had seven grandchildren Erik, Xavier, Eva, Asa, Uriah, Miah, and Amarae. She loved her fur babies Sammy and Toby. Her warmth and affection knew no bounds, and her presence brought joy to countless hearts.
