Minnie (Dominguez) LeBlanc

April 20, 1930 — August 20, 2020

On the evening of Thursday, August 20, 2020, Minnie (Dominguez) Le Blanc; surrounded by her loving family, went to a place that Jesus had prepared her, her forever heavenly home. Where she was reunited with her loving and gentle husband Alfonso. Minnie was born on Easter Sunday ninety years ago and was a special blessing to her parents Thomas and Maria Dominguez. She was raised in Raton, NM with her seven siblings. Her life was full as she grew up and began to serve the Lord. She played the organ and sang solos during mass at Saint Patrick Church. Many people requested her to sing at weddings, funerals, and special occasions. Everyone wanted to pay her; but she never took money because God blessed her with her voice, and she was doing it for Him. Minnie married Alfonso (her only boyfriend, her best friend, and lover) on September 15, 1951. After Alfonso served in the Air Force they settled in Albuquerque. She was the true American housewife raising five children and managing the household budget. Al often told her that she squeezed the nickel so tight that the buffalo would bleed. Her children loved her so much and always had what they needed. Her oldest child would volunteer her to be the home room Mom, to bring her class to the backyard for lunch, and to be the Camp Fire Girls leader. She was always willing to help anyone. She was a bowler with her husband, Al. They bowled for decades on a league and they used the team name “GOOD “E” NUFF.” She, also, served as the league secretary. Even after Al’s death, she continued to bowl. She was a social butterfly. Always talking and laughing with other league members. When her children were older she went to work. She worked in retail, including a pharmacy, a five and dime store, and she retired from Kirtland Air Force Base exchange. She would lunch with her base exchange friends every month with great joy and wonderful memories. Minnie was a parishioner of Holy Ghost church for 50 years. She was actively involved with the Altar Rosary Society and served as the treasurer. Minnie was adored and loved by everyone. She was not shy and made friends everywhere. She would talk to babies and children, always blessing them with a cross on the forehead. Minnie’s faith was so strong that it was a great foundation for her children’s love of God. She always said God is three persons in one, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. If you believe in one you believe in all three, you cannot take one from the other. Her love of God, family, and life will forever live in the hearts of her children and grandchildren. She will never be forgotten.

Minnie was preceded in death by her mother and father, her beloved husband, Al, several sisters and brothers, and her great granddaughter Lily. She is survived by her children Lenore and Frank Buffington, Dennis and Lita LeBlanc, Dianne LeBlanc, Yvette and Darryl Reinsel, Earl and Michelle LeBlanc. Her many wonderful grandchildren and spectacular great grandchildren. Her sisters Lorenza Sanchez and Margaret Pfingsten, her brothers Sam and George Dominguez, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
