Attleson, Mimi B. Mimi B. Attleson passed away unexpectedly in her sleep on May 30, 2015 in Speicher, Germany. She was 66. Mimi was born in Denver, CO, on September 22, 1948. She moved to Albuquerque, NM in 1967 to attend the University of New Mexico. After graduation from college with a BA in French and English she began teaching in Alamogordo, NM. While teaching in Alamogordo, she received a Master's in Reading from New Mexico State University. She returned to Albuquerque to teach at Rio Grande High School where she taught French and English for twenty years. While teaching at Rio Grande she received a Master's in French. She taught for twenty years overseas. She had just ended her teaching career of forty-three years in Bitburg, Germany and was planning on retiring to Albuquerque in June. Mimi was a beloved teacher who inspired countless students through four decades. She loved sharing her passion for literature with her students. Her legacy will live on through the thousands of students who were impacted by her. Numerous students have remained in contact with her through the years. Mimi indulged her love of literature, art, history, music, architecture and cultures by traveling and did so extensively in Europe and Asia. Mimi was preceded in death by her parents, Jeanne Troxel Attleson and Harlan A. Attleson. She is survived by sisters, Sara Attleson of Albuquerque, Lisa Attleson and husband, Bob Hampton of Wichita Falls, TXI� brother, Robert Attleson of BelenI� nieces, Emma Galin-Attleson and husband, Luis Alonzo of Boston, MA, Libby Galin-Attleson of Ventura, CA and Kaitlin Hampton of Austin, TXI� nephews, Max Galin-Attleson of Ventura, CA and Andy Hampton of Boston, MA. Mimi was a devoted and loving daughter, sister, friend, aunt and teacher. Her family and friends know that she made the world a better place. Services will be held on Monday, July 6, 2015, 10:00 a.m., at the chapel at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 7999 Wyoming Blvd NE.
