Dr. Milton Alvarez-PagA�n died August 28, 2015 surrounded by his family at his home in Albuquerque, NM. The son of Enrique Alvarez and Dolores PagA�n, he was born in MayagA�ez, Puerto Rico, on July 26, 1924. Dr. Alvarez-PagA�n was a beloved pediatrician in Puerto Rico and Florida, committed to the improvement of health, education and the social well-being of all people and in particular, migrant families. He was a recognized academic, diagnostician and pediatrics lung disease consultant. He served as Assistant Dean and Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Puerto Rico Medical School. In Florida, he served as Medical Director and Senior Pediatrician at the Central Florida Community Clinic, Sanford, FL. During his long career, he was the recipient of numerous awards for his excellence in the practice of pediatrics. He served as Captain, U.S. Air Force Medical Corps at Forbes Air Force Base Hospital in Topeka, KS. Dr. Alvarez-PagA�n was preceded in death by his daughter, Olga Alvarez. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Olga Alvarez Carminely; his daughter Silvia Alvarez of Albuquerque, NM; his son, Milton Alvarez of Albuquerque, NM; his daughter Marisol Navas Sacasa of Santa Fe, NM; his daughter and son-in-law, Margie and Darren Woodson of Farmington, NM; five grandchildren; and his sister, Gladys Cibes of San Juan, Puerto Rico. A Rosary Service will be held on Friday, September 4, 2015, 6:00 p.m., at FRENCH - Wyoming. A Prayer Service will be held Saturday, September 5, 2015, 10:30 a.m., also at FRENCH - Wyoming.
