Miles Benjamin Orton

Miles B. Orton passed on April 4, 2022. Born in Adel, Iowa on April 12, 1936, to Alida Mamie Orton and Miles B. Orton, he was the youngest of 8 children consisting of 2 boys and 6 girls. All have preceded him in death.

Miles worked for the City of Albuquerque for 30 years; first 10 as an Albuquerque Police Officer. After receiving his degree from the University of Albuquerque, Miles went to work for the City Environmental Health Department where he retired as a Division Manager. Miles also served in the military for 25 years, retiring as a Lt. Colonel from the Air National Guard.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Eleanor; his three daughters Diane Popp (Bret), Denise Durden (Jake), and Barbara Haas (Greg); 3 grandsons Mason Popp, James Haas, Bryan Durden; and great grandson, Karter Haas. He will also be missed by many nieces and nephews in Albuquerque (especially Marisa and Rebecca Silva) and in Iowa, (especially Jerry and Jackie Orton, Carolyn Boyle, and Mary Wheeler).

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at FRENCH-Wyoming on April 25, 2022, at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
