Mildred Ruth (Hamm) Smith

Mildred Ruth Smith, age 91, a long-time resident of Albuquerque died on Saturday, December 9, 2017. She is survived by her children, Steven Smith; David Smith and wife, Ingrid, and Ann Bruner and husband, Kent; one grandchild, Lorna Hanley; sister-in-law, Twila Hanner; and other relatives and friends. Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest E. Smith. She was born in 1926 in Ferris, TX to James F. and Grace Davis Smith and after her marriage to Forrest in Dallas TX. in 1954, they moved to Albuquerque with his work. Mildred's life touched many people. For several years, she had an in-home day care where she took care of over seventy-five children from a couple of months old to middle school age. Mildred loved to garden, watch her day-time soap operas, and watch basketball (Lakers) and hockey (Scorpions). She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Cremation has taken place and no services are planned.
