Mildred S. Litt, 89, a longtime Albuquerque resident passed away on March 28, 2016. Mildred was born in Durango, CO and grew up on a family farm west of Durango before moving to Albuquerque with her family in 1935.
Mildred graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1943 and went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Biology from the University of New Mexico. She was an active sorority member and maintained close contact with her sisters over the years. She made her career working at the Santa Fe Railroad as a rate clerk for over 30 years. Mildred was a beloved grandmother and aunt. She was an avid bridge player, a long-time member and Treasurer of the Woman's Club of Albuquerque, and enjoyed participating in many women's and business groups locally.
Mildred was preceded in death by her son, John Litt. She is survived by her older brother, Elwin Schaefer of Albuquerque, NM; granddaughter, Rachel Nelson of Cambridge, MA.; grandson, Andrew Litt of Los Angeles, CA; nephews, Ken Schaefer & Kurt Schaefer of Albuquerque, NM; and niece, Karen Stidham of Rural Retreat, VA.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 7, 2016, at FRENCH - University, 1111 University Blvd NE. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, 700 Yale Blvd. SE. Please visit our online guestbook for Mildred at www.FrenchFunerals.com.
