Mildred June Davis, age 88, of Rio Rancho, New Mexico left this life on Thursday, October 20, 2022, to meet her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and loved ones who proceeded her in death. Mildred was born on June 11, 1934, in Coolidge, Arizona, to Ralph and Louseneth Veazey. She graduated High School in 1952 from Santa Cruz Union Valley High School in Eloy, Arizona. Mildred followed her calling to be a nurse and attended St. Joseph School of Nursing in Phoenix, Arizona, and after graduation in 1955, she moved to Albuquerque to work at Nazareth Sanitorium. In 1956, she met the love of her life, David Davis, and by November of that year they were married and enjoyed 53 years together.
Mildred went to work for Dr. John Casebolt and much of her 40-year nursing career was spent working in his practice. She was truly gifted at caring for people and laughed and cried with them as the ups and downs of life came along.
One thing that Mildred communicated to everyone she could, is that God is in control. She was a woman of great faith and prayed daily for her family, those in need, and missionaries around the world. Throughout the years Mildred worked tirelessly in several churches and went on mission trips to Mexico to help minister in orphanages, where she was fondly known as, "Abuelita Mildred".
Mildred and her great sense of humor and beautiful smile will be missed by many.
Mildred was preceded in death by her loving husband, David, in 2009; a stillborn daughter, Louseneth Christine in 1966, and a great-grandson, Raiden Ramos in 2015. She is survived by daughter, Louise, and husband Saith Budagher; son, Ralph, and wife Bonnie Davis; son, Ray, and wife Denise Davis; grandchildren, Andrea Mullins, Angela Broadfoot, Jessica Dillion, Brittany Ramos, and William Davis, and fifteen great-grandchildren, and her sister, Louise Edge.
A Memorial Service will be held for Mildred on Friday, November 4, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., First Baptist Church of Rio Rancho, 3906 19th Ave SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124.
