Mildred "Nanny" Bowdich, Age 98, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 30, 2015. She is survived by her son, Joe H. Bowdich and wife, Anne of Albuquerque; daughter-in-law, Julie Bowdich of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Dana Nystrom and husband, Gerry, Chris Bowdich and wife, Jackie, David Bowdich and wife, Jennifer, Lee Bowdich and wife, Michelle, Jani Bowdich-McKeon and Kurt Bowers; great-grandchildren, Emily, Deborah, and David Nystrom, Michael and Lizzie Bowdich, Ashley Calderwood and husband, Jamie, Taylor Rae and Bronson Bowdich, Colby McKeon, P.J. and Chase McSweeney ; two great-great grandchildren, Cailin and Layla Bowdich; and numerous other relatives and friends. Nanny was preceded in death by her husband, Joe S. Bowdich, Jr.; children, Raymond Lee Bowdich Sr. and Floyd Bruce Bowdich; sister, Georgia A. Rowe and husband, Raymond R.; and brothers, William and Harry Lee Yocum Jr. She was born in 1916 in Winthrop, Missouri to Harry and Lela Yocum. Mildred spent most of her childhood in Kansas, graduating from El Dorado High School in El Dorado, Kansas. She moved to Albuquerque in 1934 to live with her sister, Georgia. It was here that she met the love of her life, Joe S. Bowdich, Jr. and they were married in June of 1935. Mildred was a long time member of Manzano Baptist Church. She loved an immaculate home and was always very proper. Mildred was a wonderful cook, a loving mother, grandmother, and sister and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Friends may visit FRENCH - Lomas Thursday, July 9, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Services will be held at FRENCH-Lomas, Friday, July 10, 2015, 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Bert Singletary officiating. Interment will take place at Fairview Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Bronson Bowdich, Lee Bowdich, David Bowdich, Chris Bowdich, Kurt Bowers, and Kevin O'Toole. Mildred's family would like to express their gratitude to the Lotus House staff, and Hospice of the Sandias for their loving care, along with those special friends who visited her.
