Mickey Joe Wagner

Dr. Mickey Wagner died peacefully at home of pancreatic cancer on Thursday, May 27, 2021. If he were writing this he would say, "I was here" and be done but those of us who loved him would add a few words to that.

He was born in Clovis, NM to Amos and Ada Wagner on Monday, February 1, 1937. He attended Clovis High School, the University of New Mexico, and graduated from Dental School at the University of Missouri at Kansas City in 1962. He practiced dentistry in Albuquerque for 52 years and retired in 2014.

He was predeceased by his parents; two brothers, Rex Wagner and Loel Wagner; and the mother of his children, Gretchen Campbell. He is survived by his wife, Anthonie; his children, Michael Wagner (Peggy), Deanna Kekauoha (Randolph), Frank Wagner (Leona), and Rachel Woodard (Rob); his step-sons, Lewis Worley (Stephanie) and Jesse Worley (Karen). All of his grandchildren considered him Grandpa--Alisa Gardner (Korey), Amber Welchel (Kevin), Jason Wagner (Krissy), Casey Wagner, Jesse Nixon, Beau Wagner, Adam Clements, Ben Clements, Cody Clements, Addison Worley, Isabelle Worley, Christopher Worley, and Alice Worley. He had five great-grandchildren, Hayden Varner, William Clements, Evelyn Welchel, Isaac Welchel, and Matthew Wagner. He is also survived by two brothers, Max Wagner (Linda) and John Wagner (Kathy).

He was a kind, gentle, and loving man who enjoyed his family and friends, golf, playing cards, sporting events, and traveling the world. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.

We will gather in the garden on Saturday, July 17, 2021 to celebrate his life. Any flowers in his memory might be given to someone you love.
