Michael Romero was born on July 20, 1950. And went home to the Lord on Palm Sunday March 20, 2016 at the age of 65.
Michael was preceded in death by his wife Lorenza Romero, daughter Michelle Tafoya, grandmother Ciria Gutierrez, mother Lorencita Gutierrez, brother Rudy Romero and nephew Ronnie Romero. He is survived by his three daughters, Charmaine Tafoya, Maryjane Chavira, Jasmine Williams (Mike Williams) and son EddieJoe Tafoya. His three sisters Louise Romero, Debra (Danielle) and Dina (Estevan) Gutierrez. Brothers Philbert and Gilbert Gutierrez and sister in-law Evelyn Romero. Aunts Lucy Rivera and Judy Higuera. And 14 Grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Also, he had numerous nieces and nephews.
Michael was born and raised in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He moved to Albuquerque in the late 70's where he met the love of his life, Lorenza Romero. He was happily married 35 years. He was a dedicated husband, wonderful father, great brother and an awesome grandfather. He enjoyed fishing, camping and telling jokes. He loved to fellowship in the Lord, and speak at bible studies He liked going to thrift stores in search of lost treasure. He also enjoyed spending time with his grand kids and loved to eat lots of sweets.
Michael will be greatly missed. We give thanks to our heavenly father for his life and for the opportunity to have shared it. Now we hold fast to hope of being reunited again in eternal glory, through the power of Christ Resurrection.
