Michael William Rogers

Michael William Rogers, age 61, recently passed away in Las Vegas, NV after a long illness, with his son, Spencer Evan Rogers by his side. Spencer is a resident of Seattle, WA where he works as a software engineer.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, James Willis Rogers, Sr. and Mary Ann (Keleher) Rogers both of Albuquerque, NM.

Michael was the youngest of four children. Surviving siblings are Susan Schenkelberg and husband, Charles of Cleveland, OH, Jim Rogers, Jr. and wife, Susan of Albuquerque, NM, and Ann Rothman and husband, Dr. Michael of Santa Fe, NM. He is also survived by many nieces, a nephew, uncles, aunts and many cousins.

Born in Albuquerque, NM on September 7, 1955, Michael grew up in Albuquerque and has lived in Las Vegas, NV for the past 11 years.

Michael loved all things real estate, and talking politics. He enjoyed literature and music, especially playing the piano. He eventually became involved with AA both in Albuquerque and Las Vegas, NV and recently he had received an AA coin marking 21 years of being free from the ravages of alcohol.

Thanks to the help of AA and various friends, Michael found sobriety and everlasting peace in his later years and he was one of the many pilgrims who journeyed to the Benedictine Abbey of Christ in the Desert in Abiquiu, NM. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 16, 2017, 10:00 a.m., at FRENCH – University, 1111 University Blvd. NE, in Albuquerque.
