Brigadier General (Retired) Michael Glen Jordan, New Mexico State Defense Force and US Army, aged 71, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle passed away Monday, May 8, 2017. Michael was preceded in death by his parents Betty Jo (New) and US Navy Fireman 1st class Leslie Hugh Jordan.

General Jordan served in active service from February 1967 to March 1987 as an Officer in the U.S. Army including service in Vietnam and Germany. He was awarded the Bronze Star, the Meritorious Service Medal and Army Commendation Medal for his service to his country. After retiring from active duty in the US Army as a major, Mike joined the New Mexico State Defense Force as a Colonel and retired at the rank of Brigadier General. After completing his military service, Mike worked for Logicon, Martin Marietta, Lockheed Martin and the US Air Force Distributed Mission Operations Center at Kirtland Air Force Base. Mike was active in the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) as a Lifetime Certified Protection Professional (CPP). He also taught Security Management for Webster University in Albuquerque. He was also a member of the New Mexico Crime Prevention Association.

General Jordan is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Beth (Foley) Jordan, his daughters, Tracey (Terri) Sellers and husband Chris; Lori Laflin and husband James; grandchildren Jolene and Kevin Laflin; sister Joyce Eident and husband Richard; Sister-in-Law Margaret Stieg and husband Glenn and many other family and friends, who will truly miss him.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2017, 11:00 a.m., at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 6901 Wyoming Blvd NE, Albuquerque. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
