Michael Dean Hatch

Michael Dean Hatch, 73, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2024. Mr. Hatch was an accomplished fisheries biologist who received a Ph. D in Water Science and Management from New Mexico State University in January of 2022. He worked for the State of New Mexico and for SWCA over a career that spanned four decades. A rugged out-doorsman, he once hiked in Nepal for 40 days, and went mountaineering in Patagonia. But his favorite activity was spending time with family and friends up at the family cabin in northern New Mexico. Mr. Hatch is survived by his three children, Heidi Effmann, Russell Hatch and Tyson Hatch; and his grandchildren, Bradley Lewis, Spencer Lewis, Elli Lewis, Piper Effmann, Calliope Hatch and Wylie Hatch.
