Michael Richard Carpenter

Michael Richard Carpenter, age 67, passed away of natural causes a year ago, on Tuesday, May 3, 2022. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Laurie Carpenter; mother, Helen Carpenter; sister, Karen Schnardhorst; nieces, Carrie, Leana, Jennifer, and Melissa and their families, sister-in-law, Gay Hill; nephews, Chris and his family, and David; daughter-in-law, Tracy Carpenter, and numerous cousins and their families. He is also survived by his ex-wife Kay (Matthew) Montoya and her surviving children, Gabriel and Vanessa Maeve. Mike was preceded in death by his father, Richard J. Carpenter, Jr. and his son, Stephen Michael Carpenter.

Mike is also remembered by many friends and coworkers from his first jobs in Anchorage, Alaska to his careers with GE Computer Service for 17 years as an IT Specialist in California and New Mexico, Fulcrum Direct for 2 years as a Telecommunications Technician, and New Mexico Technet for 14 years as the Director of the Computer Reruns Program, a non-profit program in cooperation with Intel, donating refurbished computers to schools and non-profit organizations.

Mike loved the outdoors and was happiest when he was in the wilderness camping, fishing, and hiking. Mike was a kind and gentle man and will always remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Per Mike's written request, no services were held for him. His cremated remains will be interred at Sunset Memorial Park at a later date.
