Maxine Faye (Stefonowicz) Surdahl

Maxine F. Surdahl, 86, of Albuquerque, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2023. She is survived by her sons, Scott and Brian; her grandchildren, Brenna, Todd, and Emily Surdahl; and her great-grandchildren, Madison, Jaxson, and Lucas. Maxine is also survived by her brother, Gary, as well as many other loving family members and friends. She was proceeded in death by her husband, Delano Franklyn Surdahl; and her son, Jeffry Dale Surdahl.

Maxine was raised in Wildrose, ND, graduated from Interstate Business College in 1955, and worked for the USDA in Fargo before her marriage to Del.

Maxine loved reading, playing bridge, and gardening. She had an affinity for fresh flowers and was particularly fond of her peaches and tomatoes. She loved entertaining and cooking, and she made it look easy. She kept her house ready to receive company at a moment's notice, whether it was a neighbor or an out-of-town guest. She was always positive and inspiring. Family and traditions were prominent in her life, and she was generous with her kindness to others.

Maxine liked dressing up and attending various functions/events. She was blessed with countless friends and kept in touch with them. She loved to travel and had visited more than 30 countries.

Maxine was a charter member of the local Scandinavian Club and numerous bridge clubs and was a member of Faith Lutheran for over 50 years.
