Maxine Martha (Williams) Smith

Maxine Smith, 85, went home to be with our Lord on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 in Albuquerque, NM. She is survived by her daughter, Laura Lee Smith-Rocco of Hideaway, TX; her son Blaine Smith and wife, Debbie of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren Clinton Rocco and wife, Tonya of Tyler, TX; Jody Rocco and wife, Mandy of Clyde, TX; Dawn Ross and partner Neil of Los Lunas, NM and; Shanna Platow and fiancé Craig of Rio Rancho, NM; along with nine great-grandchildren, Joshua Ross and fiancé, Shelbi, Kerstyn Ross, Keanna Jenkins, Paige Rocco, Sean Rocco, Rachel Rocco, Brooke Rocco, Samantha Rocco, Annalyse Rocco and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Laura Williams; former husband, Herbert Smith; brothers, Curtis and Calvin Williams; sisters, Patsy Jones and Doris Mock; and son-in-law, Sammy I Rocco, II.
Martha Maxine Williams was born in Clayton, NM on Tuesday, November 2, 1937 where she was raised with her brothers and sisters on the family dairy until she graduated from Clayton High School in 1955. She wed Herbert Smith on Saturday, May 28, 1955 and together they raised their children in Albuquerque where she would enjoy 12 years of school bus driving with Beal Bus Company and later, 25 years as a clerk at Valley Livestock Auction.
Maxine cherished every moment with her family and friends no matter the time, place or occasion - she was always up for an adventure! Whether it be 4-wheeling, jet skiing, following her favorite bands, camping or hitting the road with her sisters, she lived her life to the fullest! Her grand and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy. She was the biggest fan at their various sporting/hobby events, counseled them through life's toughest moments, taught them a variety of skills and never disappointed them when asked to join in their shenanigans. She was a fun, caring Christian woman who was determined to make sure everyone left with a smile on their face - she will be greatly missed by all.
After a full, active and remarkable life, mom passed away at home surrounded by family, following a short battle with cancer.
