Maxine McDowell passed away Sunday, June 26, 2016. Maxine was born to Joseph and Loretta Miller on April 18, 1921 in the small farming community of Mt. Clair, Nebraska. In 1940 Maxine married Grady Barlow in Denver, Colorado with whom she had two children. Later she married Jack McDowell and in 1968 they moved to Albuquerque, the place she would call home for the rest of her life. In 1970 Maxine obtained her real estate liscense. She spent the next 30 plus years doing what she loved. During that time she helped many families find the right home and received many awards for her efforts. She was predeceased in death by her parents; her brothers, Dr. Gerald Miller and Dr. Elmer Miller; and her sister, Betty Bohlander. She is survived by her son, Douglas Barlow and wife, Virginia of Ashland, Mt; her daughter, Carol Elliott and husband, Byron of Albuquerque; her sister, Shirley Stewart of Farmington; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Maxine's Life will be held Friday, July 8, 2016, 10:00 a.m. at Heights Seventh-day Adventist Church, 4920 Wyoming Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM.
