Maxine Munn Ganyard was born in Deckerville, MI to Ethel Brooks Munn and Otis J. Munn. When Maxine was one week old her mother passed away and her father gave her to her mother's sister, Ida Brooks Ross and husband, Charlie Ross, to raise. Two sisters went to live with another aunt. Maxine grew up in the Marlette, MI area. She attended high school there, and graduated from Eastern Michigan University and The University of Michigan. She taught school in Michigan and Albuquerque, NM for several years. Maxine married Floyd Perry Ganyard in 1952, and they resided in Albuquerque their entire married life. For this union, one son Steven was born. He was accidently killed in 1995 at age 40. Her husband preceded her death in the year 2000. Both had retired in 1986, and they traveled extensively until Floyd's death. Services will be held on Monday, August 15, 2016, 11:00 a.m., at FRENCH - University, with visitation at 10:00 a.m. Maxine will be interred with her husband at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:15 p.m. in Santa Fe, NM.
