Maxine Fouch

February 25, 1924 — October 13, 2012

Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Maxine LaMae Fouch passed away in her home with family by her side at the age of 88. Maxine was born on the family farm between Arcadia and Scotia, Nebraska to Pearl and John Tucker. In school she played volleyball and was a proud cheerleader. After graduating she went to work in Omaha, NE at the Waldorf Café where she met her husband, Charles Trueman Fouch. They were married 54 years before his death in 1998. Maxine is survived by their seven children, Charlene Jackson and husband, David of LaPlata, NM, Don Fouch and wife, Pat of Los Lunas, NM, Phyllis Chavez of Rio Rancho, NM, Billy Fouch of Albuquerque, NM, Pam Singleton of Yelm, WA, Lyle Fouch and wife, Dixie of Austin, CO, Forrest Fouch and wife, Linda of Los Lunas, NM as well as 14 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Maxine was hard working and spent many hours as a waitress at the Alvarado Hotel and was one of the original Harvey Girls. She retired from the Albuquerque Petroleum Club after 14 years. A great cook and collector of antiques, Maxine lived in Albuquerque since 1958. In times of great difficulty Maxine would often say "it's better to laugh than cry." We will remember all the smirks and laughs she brought us as we honor and celebrate her life on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at French Lomas Chapel. Maxine will be laid to rest with her husband, Charles at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
